HMQ1725, developed by the CryptoCoderz community, is a modernised version of the Quark hashing algorithm. This modification occurred as a result of the Quark algorithm becoming ASIC friendly. The name, HMQ1725, stands for 'Highly Modified Quark1725'. The 1725 comes from the way the algorithm works, seventeen algorithms that are hashed twenty five times. The algorithm is both CPU and GPU mineable and is based on the Proof of Stake (PoS) principle.
