Tribus is an algorithm that was created for the hybrid cryptocurrency, Denarius (DNR). So far, Denarius is the first and only coin to use the algorithm. The algorithm is based on three different hashing algorithms, hence the name Tribus, meaning three in latin. It is ASIC resistant and can be mined using CPUs and GPUs. The algorithm is currently ASIC resistant, but this does not mean to say it won't be in the future.
