Blake256 is the predecessor to Blake2s, based on the original Blake algorithm. There are several versions of Blake now. The original Blake was entered into the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) hash function competition back in 2012. The only difference between this algorithm and other Blake algorithms is that it uses 32-bit words and produces 256-bit digest size. The ultimate winner of the competition was Keccak.
