Wirex has just announced that their new virtual Visa debit cards are up and running. They are available from today, 16th March, 2018, to all customers in the United Kingdom. It's the first country to be approved access to cryptocurrency debit cards.
Customers can sign up to the new cards, giving them new features like an account number and sort code, virtual debits cards in British Pounds (GBP), United States Dollars (USD) and Euros (EUR). The physcial plastic card is free and will be available in about four weeks time. There is also a new deposit balance limit of 7,500 GBP.
They said today in a tweet that they're aiming for France, Germany and Italy next, so stay tuned for updates on this as soon as they happen.
The new accounts are protected by an e-Money licence and they have just gained PCI DSS certification — making Wirex the most secure financial platform in the cryptocurrency industry today.
